I have seen other users have success with putting an Entry Sensor on their garage's overhead door by placing the magnet on the top lip of the door, and mounting the sensor on the wall.. However, please note that neither piece of the Entry Sensor should be placed directly on metal, as it can demagnetize the sensor and cause it to read an incorrect open/closed status.
